Violent brawl in Milan: 11 people arrested with trappers Baby Gang and Simba La Rue

*Translated by Sara Pasino

MILAN – The State Police and the Carabinieri forces, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Milan and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office in Milan, are issuing two protective orders against 11 people – including the two well-known trappers Baby Gang (Zaccaria Mouhib) and Simba La Rue (Lamine Mohamed Saida) – suspected of having committed the crimes of brawling, injury, aggravated robbery and illegal carrying of a gun.

Violent movida

The operation of the judicial police after the violent fight, that involved more than ten people, with the use of firearms, happened in the night between July 2 and July 3 in Alessio di Tocqueville street, a well-known place in Milan for the movida. There two men of Senegalese origin were kneecapped.

In the order, signed by the GIP, Guido Salvini, there are 9 other people (only one under house arrest) and two minors, all linked to the entourage of the two artists and accused in various ways of fighting, injuries, aggravated robbery and illegal carrying of a gun.

CCTVs and witnesses

The subsequent reconstruction of the serious crime was the result of an intense and complex investigation conducted by the Carabinieri Company “Duomo” and the Mobile Squad, coordinated by the two Public Prosecutors, through technical activities, the analysis of numerous CCTV cameras recordings and the acquisition of statements of people informed about the facts.

The investigative activity, currently in the phase of the preliminary investigations, has allowed to identify in a punctual way the salient phases of the violent brawl, identifying the past fights between the gangs of the street and the economic interests of each of them.

The role of the trappers

According to the investigation, at least 13 people took part in the crime, 11 of them belonging to one faction (including two minors) and two to another. An active role in the fight was supposedly played by two well-known Milan trappers, part of the largest group, orbiting around a record company.

The physical confrontation, initially characterised by repeated kicks and punches between the participants, ended as a real execution against the two Senegalese men, drawn from the legs by gunshots and robbed of money and other personal effects.

Musical rivalry

In recent months, the Carabinieri had arrested 9 people, four of whom are the recipients of the current measure, protagonists of a series of aggressions and retaliations between the gangs of “Simba La Rue” and “Baby Gang”, on the one hand, and that of “Baby Touchè” on the other, for the bitter conflict caused by rivalries in the spread of their respective musical productions.

The further development of the investigation, documenting this latest episode of violence, has allowed the authorities to reveal the dynamics and hierarchies inside the gang of Piazza Prealpi, still the most active on the criminal and musical scene in Milan. The gangs of “Simba La Rue” and “Baby Gang” follow rules of mutual fidelity and silence. The modalities and circumstances of the crimes committed denote a marked delinquency capacity and social dangerousness of the subjects involved, capable of carrying out criminal actions characterised by particular seriousness and brutality, being able to take advantage of the common availability of firearms, which they do not hesitate to show in their music videos and on their social media pages, reaching thousands of followers especially among teenagers.

Numerous searches have been carried out against the suspects.
