MILAN – Because of the strikes called by the USW of Trenord, the union Orsa and the protest that may affect the staff of RFI Traffic Area Milan, from today, Saturday October 8 at 9 pm to Sunday October 9 at 9 pm regional trains, Suburban trains and Malpensa Express airport connections will experience disruptions and cancellations. Since the strikes will take place on a public holiday, according to current legislation, the company will not be able to implement any minimum guarantee service.
The strike
The strike will also affect the services carried out by Trenord staff that connect Lombardy to the neighbouring regions – namely Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Piedmont – and the cross-border connections TILO with the Canton Ticino, only in the Italian routes. This evening, the trains with departure time by 9 pm and arrival time by 10 pm will still be running. For the duration of the strike replacement buses will be provided. They will however not call for the intermediate stops, except for the trips between Milan Cadorna and Malpensa Airport T1 and between Stabio and Malpensa Airport T1.
The alternatives
Tomorro, October 9, because of the Deejay Ten, the replacement buses (excpet for the trips between Milan Cadorna and Malpensa) will start from and end in Lampugnano, connected to Cadorna by the subway M1. At the end of the event, after 1 pm, the replacement service will regularly start and end in Via Paleocapa 1, starting with 344 races (Malpensa T1 12.56-Milan Cadorna 13.34) and 347 (Milan Cadorna 13.57-Malpensa T1 14.34). In Cadorna and Lampugnano there will be assistance and security Trenord operators to assist travellers.
