INDUNO OLONA – After the news of the death of the 14-year-old Karim in Blenio, also the other boy who was with him died. It was reported by the cantonal police. Christian Maccarrone, 14, from Induno Olona, crashed with Karim Larbi Damir, from Bisuschio, on Sunday, September 4, during a trip in the Swiss mountains organised by Virtus Bisuschio.
Karim’s funeral
On Friday, September 9, Karim’s funeral was celebrated in Varese, in the cemetery of Belforte. Christian had been hit by his friend during the fall: both fell into the void for about 100 metres. Karim died instantly, Christian had been transported by helicopter in very serious conditions to the hospital in Lugano. Unfortunately, he died on Friday. The mayor of Induno, Marco Cavallin, who took part in Karim’s funeral, had asked everyone to address a thought to Christian who was in very serious conditions.
Two broken communities
«The whole community of Induno Olona is close to Christian’s parents and sister», says Cavallin, unable to hide the pain. «My personal thoughts go to the family, also as a father. It’s a tragedy that affects us all. Christian was supposed to go back to school in a few days. A new year, racing into the future. It is incomprehensible».
