VARESE From Agra to Sumirago, passing through Cardano al Campo and Lavena Ponte Tresa. On August 20 there have been many reports of a strange sighting. A sequence of lights, at least fifty, a series of bright points that have crossed in a row the night sky of the province of Varese. No, it’s not a paranormal phenomenon. The explanation is simple and it has been known for a long time: these are the Starlink satellites used by Elon Musk to build a mega constellation to provide internet services to every corner of the world.

The constellation Starlink

These are small satellites of the constellation Starlink launched into orbit by a Falcon 9, space rocket of the SpaceX project, developed by Mr Tesla. The confirmation comes from SpaceX website, where the launches are listed. The last one dates back to August 20 at 9.21 pm, Italian time, from the space base of Cape Canaveral, Florida. As many as 53 mini-satellites have been sent between the stars. These have transited in space, just above our heads, in about 24 hours. The bright trail has enchanted everyone in Northern Italy. The show has been seen especially from Trieste and Milan to Bologna.
